SHIPPING & RETURNS
Legal Age Requirement
Wines may be sold and delivered only to a person who is at least 21 years old. In placing your order, you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and the person to whom the wine will be delivered to is also 21 years old. At the time of delivery, all shipments containing alcohol require the signature of an adult who must show identification proving he or she is at least 21 years old.
If applicable, shipping to a work address is recommended, since an adult signature is required at time of delivery.
*Shipping to the Anaheim Resort is free on orders over $100 if you choose "Local Delivery" at checkout. Valid for the following zipcodes: 92801, 92802, 92805, 92806. Subtotal must be greater or equal to $100.
We accept online orders for wine shipping to most states, however, due to changing direct-shipping laws and regulations, the list of states that we ship to may change at any time. We will contact you by email if your order is negatively affected by new shipping regulations. All wines are sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California. We make no representation as to the rights of anyone to import wine into any state outside of California. The customer, by placing an order, warrants to us that he/she is aware of and in compliance with the laws governing said shipment into his/her area. All orders shipped outside of CA are not subject to CA state sales tax. All California orders are subject to sales tax - no exceptions. By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order. For more information about shipping orders for wine, please contact us at (657) 208-1860.
Colony Wine Merchant LLC takes reasonable precautions to ensure safe, temporary storage/staging of purchased goods as, from time to time, requested by our customers.
Many states restrict the shipment of wine. Please accept our apologies if we are unable to ship to your area. We cannot ship to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Texas, and Utah.
RETURNS - Under California law, it is illegal to return wines once sold, except for defective wines, which may be returned for credit or replacement within thirty days of purchase. All returned wines must be accompanied with a receipt.
OLDER WINES - We do our best to ensure proper temperature-controlled storage and provenance. However, we cannot be responsible for wines older than five years from the latest vintage. This is a wine industry standard.
HEAT AND ULLAGE - Heat is the worst enemy of wine. Even on mild days the temperature inside an automobile can "push" corks and/or create seepage and messy labels. Moreover, certain "fragile" wines can be completely ruined in a matter of hours by excessive heat. Therefore, out of fairness to our clientele, we cannot accept any returns of wines showing evidence of heat damage. Regarding the shipment of wine, our shipping department keeps an eye on the weather and if, for example, you select ground shipping to a very hot climate, we will contact you to suggest faster shipping or request that you fill out a waiver assuming liability in the event the wine is damaged. We strive to make sure that you receive the wines in the condition they're in while sitting in our 55 degree F cellar. Similar measures are taken in cold weather as well.
It is our goal to process and ship all orders as quickly as possible. Most orders will be processed within 24-48 hours of being placed. There are several factors that contribute to when you will receive your order once it has been placed.
The timing in which your order is processed is determined by the accuracy of the information provided on the order, when the order is placed, order volume, and stock availability.
It is imperative that all information included on the order is complete and accurate. Incomplete or inaccurate billing or shipping information on orders will result in a delay in processing and additional shipping charges.
Since wine is vulnerable to extremes in temperature, and we have no control over the conditions of a carrier's warehousing facility, the day in which your order is processed may affect when you receive it. Orders placed in the later part of the week may be held until the beginning of the following week.
If your order includes an item that is temporarily out-of-stock, but due to arrive within a few days, it will be delayed in an effort to ship the complete order. In that event we will attempt to notify you by e-mail of the delay

LEGAL AGE REQUIREMENT
Wines may be sold only to persons at least 21 years of age. By placing an order, you are warranting to us that you are 21 years of age.
Wines may be delivered only to persons at least 21 years of age. Our shipping agents will require a signature of someone at least 21 years of age at the time of delivery. Valid ID may be required. If the wine is returned to us for failure to provide positive proof of age, the customer is responsible for paying the return shipping charges.
Although the online inventory is always being maintained and updated, there are certain situations that may occur that are out of our control. Given the high volume nature of our business and the finite availability of some wines, please be aware that without notice there may be a vintage change or an out-of-stock situation with any of the wines that you order. Should that happen we would notify you by e-mail before your order is processed.
